Ullozhukku 2024 Hindi Dubbed Full Movie – Storyline :

The film begins with a rosy Anju (Parvathy Thiruvothu) having a private conversation with her boyfriend Rajeev (Arjun Radhakrishnan), but in the very next scene, she is seen as a timid bride, married to Thomaskutty (Prashant Murali). Anju is clearly unhappy with the wedding but tries putting up a cheerful face. When her mother breaks down while leaving Anju at her husband’s place, Leelamma (Urvashi), the mother-in-law, steps in and assures her that she will take care of her like her own daughter. It’s the start of a strong bond. But wait till Thomaskutty’s demise for the cracks to start showing up.

It’s hard to imagine a role Urvashi cannot master. From a grieving mother to any challenging character, she truly excels, a fact she reaffirms in her latest release, Ullozhukku. Directed by Christo Tomy and co-starring Parvathy Thiruvothu, Ullozhukku delves into the intricate relationship between a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law. However, it transcends the typical ‘saas-bahu’ dynamics. Urvashi, as the mother-in-law Leelamma, and Parvathy, as the daughter-in-law Anju, share a home but each longs for their perceived ideal life. Both are prisoners of their circumstances: one seemingly content with a “good” life, and the other trapped in a loveless marriage, feeling her life slipping away. A sudden death drastically alters their lives, and the movie explores how these two women navigate their new reality.

Set against the picturesque yet somber backdrop of Kuttanad’s backwaters, the film is enveloped in a relentless rain that frequently floods their home, symbolizing the persistent sorrow overshadowing their lives. Urvashi’s portrayal of Leelamma is extraordinary, capturing the nuances of a woman whose only joy is her family, now shattered by unforeseen events. One struggles to cope with their circumstances while the other feels suffocated by them. Christo Tomy brilliantly captures the emotional complexity of these two women in a simple yet intricate manner, revealing their secrets and imperfections.
